The Center for Environmental Leadership (CEL) is a Christian organization focused on caring for creation. We focus on FOUR PRIMARY AREAS (click the icons below to learn more):
EDUCATING AND EQUIPPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CREATION CARE LEADERS
THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT
We achieve our goals through the following activities:
CONVENING STRATEGIC GATHERINGS TO EXPLORE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND PRACTICAL RESPONSES. The following are three examples:
– Since 2011 the center has hosted the annual Symposium for Sustainability Leaders working at Christian colleges and universities. This symposium led to the formation of the Association of Christian Sustainabilty Professionals and the Creation Care Covenant for Christian colleges and universities.
– In 2012 CEL hosted the New Urbanism for Christians Symposium in Buffalo, NY which led to the one day events we’ve entitled ZipCode Calling: Christians Engaging the Built Environment.
– In 2012 CEL hosted the Food and Faith Symposium co-hosted with the Duke Divinity School’s Center for Reconciliation which led to the forthcoming Christian Declaration on Food.
RESOURCES THAT CUT THROUGH THE CONFUSION SO INDIVIDUALS, INSTITUTIONS, AND COMMUNITIES CAN MAKE SOUND ENVIRONMENTAL DECISIONS.
